Sigma 10-20 can get as wide as 10mm but to get the exact point of view with Tokina 11-16, both lenses were set at 11mm.
At 11mm Sigma's widest aperture is F4.5 so in the first comparison, its compared to Tokina's widest aperture which is F2.8.
In the second photo, both lenses were at F4.5.
Then they are stopped down to F5.6, F6.3, F8 and F16 which is a common aperture in wide angle lenses.
All photos were taken with the same camera (Sony Alpha A-35) and with tripod + remote control.
I don't know if you'd agree with me but Sigma 10-20 is pretty interesting lens. Its significantly softer than Tokina 11-16 in wide apertures. One can even say its not sharp enough until you stop it down to F8. At F8, its as sharp as Tokina in the center but its still softer in the corners. However very untraditionally when you stop it down to F16, it becomes as sharp both in corners and in the center. Even at F16 Tokina has a little edge in corner sharpness but is very insignificant and I guess we are safe to say they are identically sharp.
F16's being a lens sweet spot is very uncommon so hopefully you'll agree that its interesting enough. :) [Review by Sinan Ozturk]
